Many virtues have been mentioned in the books of Ahadees regarding the 6 fasts of Shawwal. Whoever keeps the six fasts of Shawwal, it is as if he has fasted for the entire lifetime; and keeping them consecutively is not necessary, rather, it is better to keep these fasts separately. The Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated: ‘The one who kept the fasts of Ramadan and then kept six fasts in Shawwal, it is as if he fasted for a lifetime.’(Muslim, pp. 456, Hadees 2758) |
