Is Deodorant Allowed Before Ihram?

Is it Permissible to Apply Deodorant to the Body Before the Intention of Irām?

Darulifta Ahlesunnat (Dawateislami)

Question

What do the scholars of Islam say regarding the following matter: can one apply deodorant to the body before making the intention of Irām (the sacred state for Hajj or Umrah) to avoid body odour?

Answer

Applying perfume or fragrance to the body before making the intention of Irām is a Sunnah and is proven from the blessed practice of the beloved Prophet Therefore, in the above scenario, if a person applies deodorant to the body before making the intention of Irām to avoid odour, it is permissible and correct; in fact, it is ideal.

(Allah Almighty knows best and His Messenger صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَ اٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم knows best.)
